Cemented carbide wire guide dies are mainly used for wire guiding, wire protection and positioning, excluding wire drawing dies, guide pulleys and other components. They can be classified according to inner hole structure, special hole types, outer shape structure and application scenarios as follows:
1. Classification by Inner Hole Structure
1. Straight Bore Wire Guide Die
With a standard cylindrical straight inner hole, it features a simple structure and strong universality, suitable for most conventional wire guiding applications.
2. Lunar Arc Bore Wire Guide Die
The middle section of the inner hole is straight, with polished arc chamfers at both ends, forming a symmetrical lunar shape. It provides smooth entry and exit without damaging the wire surface, commonly used in high-speed and precision wire guiding.
3. Stepped Bore Wire Guide Die
The inner hole has a stepped structure, achieving both guiding and limiting functions for more stable installation and preventing axial movement of the wire.

2. Classification by Special Hole Types
1. Half-Split Wire Guide Die
The inner hole is cut open longitudinally into a semicircular or U-shaped opening. The wire can be inserted directly from the side without end threading, making wire changes and maintenance more convenient.
2. Fan-Shaped Bore Wire Guide Die
The inner hole has a fan-shaped cross-section, adapting to wires with special paths or radii for better fitting and enhanced wire protection.
3. Classification by Outer Shape Structure
1. Cylindrical Straight Body Wire Guide Die
Overall cylindrical, the most common style, easy to press-fit and install.
2. Grooved Straight Body Wire Guide Die
An annular or positioning groove is machined on the cylindrical outer surface to prevent rotation and movement, suitable for equipment requiring firm clamping.
3. Tapered Outer Shape Wire Guide Die
The exterior is tapered for easy mounting and positioning in the die holder, while the inner hole remains straight for guiding only, not for drawing.
4. Flanged Wire Guide Die
With a flange at one end for precise positioning and anti-loosening, ideal for equipment requiring secure installation.
5. Custom Outer Shape Wire Guide Die
Square or special outer shapes can be customized to fit equipment installation space, while maintaining a standard inner guiding hole.

4. Classification by Functional Application
1. Single-Hole Wire Guide Die
One guiding hole per die, used for conveying, arranging and redirecting single wires.
2. Multi-Hole Wire Guide Die
Multiple orderly arranged holes in one die for simultaneous guiding of multiple wires, avoiding tangling and ensuring neat routing.
3. Precision Micro Wire Guide Die
Small aperture, high precision and high inner hole finish, mainly used for enameled wire, electronic fine wire, micro metal wire and other precision applications.
5. Classification by Cemented Carbide Grades
1. General Wear-Resistant Grade
YG6, YG8, well-balanced toughness and wear resistance, widely used with high cost performance.
2. High-Hardness Precision Grade
YG3, YG6X, higher hardness and better surface finish, suitable for high-speed, fine-wire and high-demand guiding.
3. Special Working Condition Grade
Non-magnetic cemented carbide wire guide dies, used in equipment with strict magnetic requirements.
